Biografia de Ac Dc :

Para hablar de AC-DC necesariamente hay que dividir su historia en dos etapas: la primera, comprendida entre 1973 y 1979; y la segunda de 1980 a la actualidad.

La agrupación se formó en Sydney (Australia) a inicios de los 70, cuando los hermanos Angus y Malcom Young decidieron integrar una agrupación de rock.

Por la época, las influencias más marcadas podrían llegar a ser todas las agrupaciones de la Invasión Británica, sin embargo, y sin dejar atrás a los británicos, fueron el rock & roll y el blues las tendencias musicales que lideraron a AC-DC en sus inicios.

En 1973, la banda se encontraba integrada por los hermanos Young en las guitarras, Cliff Williams en el bajo, Phill Rud a la batería, y Bon Scott en la voz, quien le dio a la banda el carácter de ¿chicos malos¿ pues había tenido antecedentes con delitos menores.

De esta manera AC-DC se abrió camino en la escena rock, inicialmente local, para después conquistar los mercados europeos y norteamericanos.

Sus primeros discos ¿High Voltage¿ y ¿TNT¿ marcaron un éxito rotundo, por lo que empezaron a viajar constantemente a conciertos y grabaciones.

Giras con los mejores artistas Hard Rock de la época como Alice Cooper, UFO, Aerosmith, Ted Nuggent, UFO, Black Sabbath y Scorpions, entre otros, los fueron metiendo en esa onda heavy que reinaba en la época de los 70.

Sin embargo, su éxito ¿Highway to hell¿ grabado en 1979 fue el que les dio popularidad y renombre a nivel mundial. Si bien ese año llegaron a la cima, también llegó la tragedia con la muerte de Bon Scott en febrero de 1980, quien falleció a causa de una intoxicación etílica.

La nueva era, reyes en los 80

La persona encargada de reemplazar a Scott fue Brian Johnson, un británico que había iniciado su trayectoria musical en la agrupación Geordie y que tenía una relación cercana con algunos miembros de Ac/Dc.

El reto no era nada fácil, pues Johnson debía reemplazar a Bon Scott, quien para muchos fue estereotipo claro de un ¿Front Man¿ en toda la década de los 70.

El primer disco, grabado en la segunda era de AC-DC, fue el popular ¿Back in Black¿, el cual es un tributo dedicado a Bon Scott. Las cifras fueron sencillamente arrasadoras: 5 semanas en el número de ventas en EEUU, 20 semanas en el TOP 10 y 131 semanas en el top 40 de Billboard.

De hecho, hasta la fecha, ¿Back in Black¿ ha recibido 19 álbumes de platino y fue incluido entre los 200 discos infaltables en cualquier colección de rock, según la revista Rolling Stone.

Son en total 23 álbumes (sin contar re-ediciones, cajas especiales, sencillos y recopilaciones), los que conforman la discografía de esta importante banda australiana, que en los 70 ya había reinventado los conceptos de ¿Front Man¿ y ¿Show Band¿, y que además se había salido de todos los esquemas con su inconfundible estilo, el modo de tocar guitarra de Angus y, naturalmente, la voz de Scott y Johnson.
